Whole Biome is seeking a Human Resources Leader of People and Culture to join the Company and lead company initiatives critical to maintaining an open, diverse and inclusive work environment that supports high performing teams in a fun, creative, and fast-paced culture. This would be the first in-house member of the human resources department. This role will develop strong working partnerships with every member of the executive team and managers, and provide support to all employees across the organization. Sharp analytical skills, a strong work ethic, desire to roll up sleeves on whatever needs doing, and the ability to build a successful and sustainable company culture as we grow, are the keys to success in this role! Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the executive team to clarify company vision, values and culture and related goals that align with Whole Biome’s business strategy.
Develop programs and implement practices that demonstrate our commitment to strengthening company culture, living our values and creating a more diverse work environment.
Maximize the employee experience and facilitate organizational development and employee training as we scale. Utilize surveys, focus groups, lunch and learns, or other tools to understand the employee experience and develop plans based on feedback.
Drive our talent acquisition and growth strategy by significant focus on attracting, retaining and developing top talent.
Take ownership of the entire hiring process including: identify need for and track open requisitions, work directly with recruiters, provide guidance to hiring managers through the interview process and details of offer, provide candidate with information on health and welfare benefits and company culture, create and send the offer letter, and on-board.
Coach managers on performance issues, PIP’s and termination meetings.
Manage the annual benefits open enrollment process including identifying benefits and plans that are support the attraction and retention of high performing employees and reflect the company’s culture and values
Build on current compensation structures and career ladders as company grows; communicate structures to staff.
Participate in quarterly executive compensation committee meetings.
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance requirements are met and reflected in company policies and programs.
5 + years of progressively more responsible experience in human resources at a growing company
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, psychology, philosophy, human resources management, organizational development, business management or related fields; MBA or relevant Human Resources Certification preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience supporting employees at all levels of the organization
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Belief in transparency and open communication and the ability for an individual’s power to improve and enable those around them
Data driven, with high level of comfort presenting analysis and information to senior management and staff
Experience with HRIS systems; Zenefits experience is helpful
Hands-on experience with administration with benefits, on-boarding, off-boarding, creating pay ranges and compensation structures, and employee relations.
Extraordinary organizational skills, with high attention to detail, and exceptional focus on accuracy and accountability
