Applications Software Engineer We are currently seeking an applications developer to build beautiful tools for laboratory and data science teams. This position will be responsible for the successful development, testing, documentation and deployment of web and cloud-based applications that enable rich access to our data analytics platform for our lab and clinical scientists.
Whole Biome is an early-stage, venture-backed biotech located in San Francisco. We are a small team of scientists, engineers and physicians interested in improving human health by using the latest research from diverse fields, such as, microbiology, molecular biology, high-throughput genomics, distributed computing, pharmaceutical development and nutrition sciences. We are developing novel classes of therapeutics and diagnostics that target the human microbiome to improve the lives of patients suffering from a variety of diseases. Define and implement consistent UI/UX across suite of tools
Define and document web APIs for data analytics and bioinformatics pipelines
Document, test, release software services in a continuous fashion
Strong programming and UI/UX development experience
Adaptable with an ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a multi-disciplinary team
Well-versed in modern web application development
Experience with cloud computing; AWS or Google platforms
Bachelors in CS or similar
3-5 years professional experience developing applications
